Lindsey Bhaumik
Hello!
I am Mrs. Lindsey Bhaumik, and I have been working in the Early Childhood field ever since I was a junior in high school. I have done every type of child care job you can imagine. I had my first classroom at 22 years old, and I am still very close with many of my former families and co-teachers from those years! While waiting to be a mother myself I decided to take a pause in teaching and I was a career nanny for 7 years. I was even an overnight nanny for newborn twins!
No matter how much experience you have, nothing teaches you more about children than becoming a parent yourself. My husband and I have two daughters. Both of my girls went to Avon Nursery School. The minute I stepped in the school for a tour I got the feeling of being at home. I started substitute teaching here once my youngest graduated and went to kindergarten. I was thrilled when a classroom opened up for me this year.
You can expect to hear a lot of laughing and music from my classroom. I am VERY animated and fun and I teach with the same enthusiasm. I have an iPod with thousands of different songs that I incorporate with all of our themes. My classroom truly becomes a family each year, and we look after each other. I am always here for a hug or listening ear. I love watching how much my students grow from the beginning of the year to the end. I beam with pride when they finally learn a new skill, or learn to write their name. (You can hear my cheering down the hall!)
Most of all, I love the relationships and bonds that I get to form with each of my students and their families. I am very lucky to get to be a small part of their childhood memories!
