Laurie Moore
I am Mrs. Moore. I have been teaching preschool for more than 22 years. My favorite part of teaching is watching a child’s face light up when they finally grasp a concept that had previously challenged them.
I love to use music in my classroom because the repeated patterns and melodies help the brain engage and retain material. I also enjoy using music to develop coordination and gross motor skills.
In our classroom, we maintain a great balance of writing, cutting, and coloring skills. We also love to express our creativity through arts and crafts.
I have two adult daughters. My oldest teaches horseback riding lessons, and my youngest works as a case manager in a recovery center.
One of my goals each year is to make learning fun. Preschool is a child’s first experience with education, so if I do not make it enjoyable, it could discourage them from liking school. I am so thankful that I chose a job that allows me to be myself, which in turn allows your child to be themselves.
